Release Date for 007 First Light Adjusted
IO Interactive has pushed back the launch of 007 First Light, the highly anticipated James Bond origin story game, by two months. The new release date is now set for May 27th, 2026.
In a statement regarding the delay, the team emphasized their commitment to creating an unforgettable James Bond experience, packed with thrilling action, international escapades, spycraft, gadgets, and high-speed car chases. As an independent developer and publisher, they believe this decision will help ensure that the game meets the high standards players expect from day one.
The game is reportedly in good shape and fully playable from start to finish, so the extra two months will be used to polish and enhance the overall experience, aiming to deliver the best version possible at launch. The team is optimistic that this approach will lead to long-term success for 007 First Light and expressed gratitude for the patience and support from fans since the game’s announcement. More updates are expected in early 2026.
IO Interactive, also known for the Hitman series, unveiled the first trailer for 007 First Light in June, followed by an in-depth gameplay showcase in September. The game will feature performances from actors like Lenny Kravitz and Gemma Chan.
