Logan Paul to Auction $5.3M Pikachu Card, Claimed as the Rarest Pokémon Card Ever
Logan Paul is putting up for auction what he claims is the “rarest and most valuable Pokémon card in the world,” as he shared on a recent episode of a financial show. He originally acquired this card in 2022 for a staggering $5.275 million.
This card is a 1998 “Pikachu Illustrator,” featuring artwork by the renowned Pokémon artist Atsuko Nishida. It was awarded to winners of an illustration contest organized by CoroCoro Comic magazine. Only 39 of these cards were ever produced, and the exact number still in existence is unknown.
The Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has given Paul’s card a perfect grade of 10, indicating it is in nearly flawless condition. According to Guinness World Records, it holds the title for the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold in a private transaction. Paul has even transformed the card into a stunning necklace made of diamonds and gold, complete with a diamond and gold Poké Ball.
Bidding for the card will kick off on January 12, 2026, at Goldin Auctions. The founder and CEO of the auction platform was recently seen wearing the necklace at a heavyweight boxing match featuring British boxer Anthony Joshua and Paul’s brother, Jake. Reports suggest that Paul anticipates the card will fetch between $7 million and $12 million.
Reflecting on his childhood, Paul recalled, “My dad used to tell me, ‘Get off your Poké-man game.'” When asked what his dad would say now, he quipped, “‘Ah, smart investment, son. Play your games!'”
