GameSir Unveils Swift Drive Controller Featuring Compact Force Feedback Steering Wheel
GameSir is known for pushing the boundaries of controller design, and its latest creation, the Swift Drive, is no exception. This innovative gamepad features a small steering wheel right in the center, powered by what GameSir claims is the “world’s smallest direct drive motor,” delivering immersive force feedback for racing games.
While pricing and availability details are still under wraps, GameSir has shared a wealth of information about the Swift Drive’s capabilities. The steering wheel is equipped with a “high-precision” Hall effect encoder, offering up to 65,000 levels of resolution for pinpoint steering accuracy. Players can adjust the wheel’s rotation from 30 to 1080 degrees, and it’s designed to be interchangeable with different styles. Hall effect sensors are also integrated into the joysticks and buttons, while the triggers feature individual haptic motors that replicate the sensations of ABS braking and wheel slip.
The Swift Drive connects wirelessly to your gaming setup via a 2.4GHz connection. Despite its reactive RGB lighting and multiple haptic motors, the battery life is estimated to last between 20 to 30 hours on a single charge.
For those who prefer a more traditional racing experience, GameSir also introduces the Turbo Drive, which offers a yoke-style steering wheel and pedal setup that clamps securely to a desk. Like the Swift Drive, it utilizes 2.4GHz wireless connectivity and Hall effect sensors for precise control. The Turbo Drive allows for extensive customization, including adjustable wheel rotation limits. Its standout feature is a built-in turbine fan that simulates airflow, enhancing the sensation of speed. With the fan activated, the battery life is around 15 hours, but turning it off can extend playtime to up to 50 hours before needing a recharge.
