January 2026 Brings Need for Speed and Epic Mickey Remake to PlayStation Plus Subscribers

PlayStation Plus subscribers can look forward to some exciting free Essential games for January 2026: Need for Speed Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and Core Keeper, as announced on Wednesday. These titles will be available for download starting Tuesday, January 6.

Need for Speed Unbound, developed by Criterion Games and released in 2022, brings a refreshing twist to the racing genre. Players can immerse themselves in the experience by focusing on customizing a single car without the pressure of constantly unlocking flashier options. This title will be accessible on PlayStation 5.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a revamped version of the beloved 3D platformer that originally debuted on the Wii in 2010. Released in 2024, this game takes Mickey on an adventure in Wasteland, where he uses a magical paintbrush and thinner to restore the environment. It will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Core Keeper invites players into a sandbox world as an explorer in a mysterious cavern filled with secrets. Launched in 2022, it has drawn comparisons to a top-down Terraria, appealing to fans of survival games like Valheim, Don’t Starve, and Forager, as well as those who enjoy Stardew Valley. Core Keeper will be playable on PS4 and PS5.

The PS Plus Essential games for January 2026 will remain available for download until February 2.

Additionally, subscribers can still grab December 2025’s PlayStation Plus Essential titles—Lego Horizon Adventures, Neon White, The Outlast Trials, Killing Floor 3, and Synduality Echo of Ada—until January 5, 2026.

PlayStation Plus Essential is the entry-level tier of Sony’s subscription service, providing online multiplayer access, a monthly selection of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and discounts on purchases from the PlayStation Store. The subscription costs $79.99 annually, $24.99 for three months, or $9.99 monthly.
