Tom and Jerry Golden Era Anthology Returns with Exciting Discounts!

Tom and Jerry: The Golden Era Anthology is currently available at a great discount. This newly released Blu-ray collection can be yours for $46.79, down from its original price of $60. It features over 100 classic animated shorts starring the beloved duo, packed into a six-disc box set that also includes a variety of bonus features and a physical sketchbook. If you prefer DVD, the anthology is also offered for $46.79 (originally $55), but keep in mind it lacks the bonus content disc and sketchbook.

Released on December 2 to mark Tom and Jerry’s 85th anniversary, this collection quickly became a bestseller after preorders began in September. While the standard retail price is noted as $60, it has been listed as high as $66.49. A similar deal for $46.79 was available in mid-December but vanished within a day.

The Golden Era Anthology stands out for including two remastered shorts that had never been released on home media in the US: “Mouse Cleaning” and “Casanova Cat.” These episodes are known for their controversial content, and although they were slated for inclusion in a previous collection that was ultimately canceled, they have now found a place here. Warner Bros. has included disclaimers on these shorts to address their historical context and the racially insensitive humor they contain.

As the largest Tom and Jerry Blu-ray collection to date, The Golden Era Anthology joins a lineup of other impressive DVD and Blu-ray box sets released over the years.

Another recent highlight is Tom and Jerry: The Complete Cinemascope Cartoon Collection, which launched in February 2025 for $28. This Blu-ray set includes all 23 of Tom and Jerry’s Cinemascope widescreen adventures, along with three bonus cartoons. The animation in these widescreen shorts is top-notch, showcasing some of the funniest moments in the series. The Blu-ray versions offer enhanced color and audio quality compared to older VHS and DVD releases. The additional cartoons from creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera include “Good Will to Men” (1955), “Give and Tyke” (1957), and “Scat Cats” (1957).

In 2025, Warner Bros. also released a budget-friendly Tom and Jerry 85th Anniversary Kids Collection on DVD, available for just $8. Additionally, they reissued “Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes” on Blu-ray for $23.49. For those looking for a comprehensive collection, the three-volume Tom and Jerry: The Spotlight Collection on DVD is a great option. This four-disc set features 112 cartoons and is currently priced at $14.58, down from $38. It covers everything from the original shorts, when Tom was still called Jasper, to later classics. However, note that this version does not include audio commentary tracks, though it still offers several special features like behind-the-scenes content and documentaries.

Looking ahead, multiple cartoon box sets are set to join the Warner Archive Collection in January. The Woody Woodpecker & Friends Golden Age Collection will be released on Blu-ray on January 20, available for preorder at $25. Flintstones fans can also look forward to preordering The New Fred and Barney Show: The Complete Series for $27.33 ahead of its January 27 launch.

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Charles Schulz’s Peanuts franchise has released several cartoon and comic strip box sets. The Peanuts: 75th Anniversary Ultimate TV Specials Collection, which came out in October, is currently discounted to $71 (originally $85). This Blu-ray set features 40 animated specials that aired from 1965 to 2011, including the very first Peanuts special, all remastered in 1080p. It also includes a collectible booklet with artwork and background details. Alternatively, the Peanuts: Ultimate TV Specials Collection is available on DVD for $55.33 (was $65).

The same day, The Essential Peanuts, a deluxe hardcover book celebrating Schulz’s iconic comic strip, was released. This 336-page slipcased set includes eight art prints, five vinyl decals, eight postcards, an iron-on patch, and a comic book. Normally priced at $75, it’s currently on sale for $43.21.
