Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Uncover Strange New Easter Egg After Seven Years, Speculating Its Significance Ahead of GTA 6

After nearly a decade, players have stumbled upon a hidden enigma in Red Dead Redemption 2 that has been lurking in plain sight. This intricate puzzle within Rockstar’s expansive open-world Western involves spider webs and telegraph poles, and the community is buzzing with theories about its significance.

Located near the Heartland Oil Fields, there’s a telegraph pole that displays a peculiar, spider-like symbol between 3 AM and 4 AM. When this marker appears, looking up reveals a web with a feather attached. While it’s a static object, you can shoot the feather off if you wish.

If you consider that pole as one leg of the spider and map out the strange outline, it leads to seven additional telegraph poles. Each of these features its own symbol and web, and at the center of the symbol’s imprint on the map lies a larger, ninth web cleverly concealed in a tree.

This larger web points north, directing you to another pole where shooting parts off reveals instructions to head west, leading to yet another pole that takes you northwest to a guitar shop. So far, this is where the trail ends, according to various video compilations from the community.

Players are currently at a standstill. There’s a similar mystery in Grand Theft Auto 5, also involving spider webs, which leads to an easter egg on Mount Chiliad. Until now, the dreamcatchers in Red Dead Redemption 2 were thought to be the game’s equivalent.

It turns out we were mistaken! Wherever this leads, it serves as a testament to the depth and richness of the game. The hope is to crack this mystery before GTA 6 arrives, so if you’re keen to dive in, now’s the time to get involved.
