No post-credits scene in Stranger Things season 5 finale, but a subtle Easter egg connects back to the series’ first episode.

The finale of Stranger Things season 5 wrapped up the beloved series on a deeply emotional note, with the gang coming together for one last game of D&D, echoing the very first scene of the show.

But there’s another subtle nod to the beginning tucked away in the credits. While there isn’t a post-credits scene, viewers are treated to a glimpse of a Stranger Things Players Manual alongside a die resting next to it.

In the series premiere, Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin are engaged in a D&D session where Will needs to roll a 13 to unleash Fireball on the Demogorgon. Just as the tension builds, the die rolls off the table, and Mike’s mom interrupts before they can finish. As Will departs, he tells Mike, “it was a seven,” adding, “the Demogorgon, it got me.”

This moment foreshadowed Will’s impending abduction to the Upside Down. So, when the Players Manual appears at the end of the finale credits, it’s notable that the die indeed shows a seven.

But that’s not the only hidden gem in the finale. As the group puts their books away for the final time in the Wheeler basement, the spines of Mike and Will’s books align to spell out “11,” hinting that Eleven may have survived the series’ conclusion.

Stranger Things is currently available for streaming.
