The Last of Us Season 3 Faces Another Casting Change

The third season of HBO’s The Last of Us is set to introduce a new actor in the role of Manny. Variety has confirmed that Danny Ramirez, who appeared in Season 2, will not reprise his role in Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts, leading to a recasting of the character. The identity of the new actor taking on this role remains unknown.

Manny is a key supporting character in The Last of Us narrative. He was previously a member of the Fireflies before joining the Washington Liberation Front. He played a crucial part in assisting Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) in her quest to find and confront Joel (Pedro Pascal) after the tragic events at a Firefly hospital, where Abby’s father was killed. Outside of this series, Ramirez is recognized for his role as Falcon in the MCU, appearing in Captain America: Brave New World and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and he will reprise this character in Avengers: Doomsday.

Additionally, Neil Druckmann has stepped away from the show after Season 2 to concentrate on Naughty Dog’s gaming projects, including the upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Druckmann contributed significantly to the series as a co-showrunner, director, writer, and producer. The Last of Us Season 3 is anticipated to premiere in 2027, with a storyline reportedly centered around Abby. Meanwhile, Naughty Dog is actively developing Intergalactic and potentially a second game, which could be The Last of Us 3.
