Arc Raiders Player’s Distress Call Leads Neighbor to Attempt Door Rescue

After an epic loot run in Arc Raiders, getting unexpectedly downed can feel like a gut punch. But one player might have taken their cries for help a bit too seriously, leading a concerned neighbor to nearly kick down their door in a panic.

In Arc Raiders, when your health hits zero, you don’t just die; you fall flat on your face, left to crawl at a painfully slow pace while a countdown ticks away your chances of survival. You can’t access your inventory or use bandages, and your only hope is to reach an escape hatch or get revived by a teammate. If you’re carrying some high-value loot—perhaps the exact items you need to upgrade your workbench—this situation can be excruciating. While crawling to safety can be a thrilling achievement, it’s often a long shot. If that timer runs out, you risk losing everything, including your favorite fully-upgraded weapons. It’s understandable to feel frustrated and call out for help.

But maybe not at full volume. As noted by an outlet, one Arc Raiders player shared doorbell footage on Reddit showing their neighbor knocking on the door, concerned after hearing desperate shouts for help. The neighbor asked, “Y’all good?” only to hear, “Help me! Somebody help me!” from inside, prompting him to step back and prepare to kick the door down.

“My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw the door bulge like something explosive was behind it,” Reddit user Dreamthorp commented below the video.

It turns out the situation was even more intense. Dreamthorp wasn’t at his own place; he was house-sitting for a friend. Fortunately, the well-meaning neighbor, who is actually a firefighter, didn’t manage to break through the door. The homeowner found the whole thing “hilarious,” and Dreamthorp mentioned he’d buy the neighbor a new door if any damage occurred.

It’s a good thing front doors don’t collapse with a single kick like they do in movies, as that would offer little security. The video cuts off right before the kick, leaving viewers to imagine the neighbor’s embarrassment as he likely bounced off the door.

“For context,” Dreamthorp explained, “I was in a night raid on the dam trying to extract from an elevator when a leaper landed on me and downed me just before the extract door shut. I just wanted to stabilize so I could leave.”

To show his appreciation, Dreamthorp left a six-pack outside the neighbor’s door.

Naturally, many Reddit users are skeptical, especially since the video cuts off before the kick, but Dreamthorp insists it’s all true. I prefer to believe him, so I’m choosing to live in that reality.
