Razer refreshes its premium gaming chair with new colors and improved leather, keeping the price at $649.

Razer has unveiled an updated version of its flagship gaming chair at CES, introducing the Razer Iskur V2 “NewGen.” This model retains the beloved design, dynamic lumbar support system, and iconic Razer aesthetic, while adding some exciting new features.

One of the standout upgrades is the use of more breathable Gen-2 EPU leather with CoolTouch technology. Additionally, the NewGen will be available in a wider range of colors, allowing you to better match it with your gaming setup. Options include the classic Black and Green, a sleek all-Black variant, a stylish Quarts (grey/white) model, and a vibrant pink version.

Razer is also enhancing the NewGen Iskur V2 with Dual-Density Cold-Cured Foam in the seat cushion. While the original model featured high-density foam, this new version emphasizes breathability, complementing the upgraded synthetic leather.

The good news is that these enhancements won’t lead to a price increase. The NewGen Iskur V2 will retail for the same $649 as its predecessor, likely maintaining a similar price of around £599 in the UK. It’s worth noting that this refresh arrives at a strategic moment for Razer, as more dynamic backrest chairs are gaining popularity in the market.

Recently, I’ve observed the Iskur V2’s price dropping more frequently. In 2025, it hit a new low of $399 during Prime Day in July and again in mid-September. While this discount was appealing, it felt unusually steep at the time. With minimal feature upgrades in the newly announced model, I can’t help but wonder if this is a response to the competition from models like Secretlab’s Titan Evo NanoGen Edition and other premium chairs such as the LiberNovo Omni.

Fortunately, Razer also released a more budget-friendly version called the Razer Iskur V2 X last year, which will also benefit from the NewGen upgrades. An updated X model will be available, featuring CoolTouch technology and three of the same color options (though no pink). However, this version will cost a bit more, priced at $349 compared to last year’s $299.

We have a strong appreciation for both versions of the Razer Iskur V2. The original remains the top choice for our Tabletop and Merch Editor, who rated it 4.5 stars. When asked about the breathability of the original model, Benjamin Abbott mentioned that while the synthetic leather isn’t the most breathable, he hasn’t found temperature control to be a significant issue, which may indicate the appeal of the NewGen versions.

We also rated the Original X model 4 stars, noting its excellent features at a more accessible price point, although it faces competition from the AndaSeat Novis, which launched last year.
