Sadie Sink Acknowledges Her Slow Escape in Stranger Things Season 5: “Clearly I’m Taking My Sweet Time”
Sadie Sink knows that Max took her “sweet time” getting back to her body in Stranger Things season 5—and she thinks she should have picked up the pace, too.
“When I was filming, I don’t think the urgency really hit me,” Sink shared during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In episode 6 of the final season, Max and Holly Wheeler are trying to escape from Camazotz, which is essentially Henry Creel’s mindscape.
While Max discovers a portal to safety, Holly needs to forge her own emotional connection to make it out. Understandably, Holly is hesitant to be left behind, prompting Max to deliver a pep talk that stretched on longer than viewers might have expected.
“Watching it, it’s clear I’m taking my sweet time with it… Like, ‘why are we doing a podcast episode right now? Run!'” Sink remarked, referencing memes where fans have humorously edited microphones and headphones onto stills of her and Nell Fisher, who plays Holly, during their lengthy conversation.
Sink also touched on a more significant topic that fans are buzzing about: the fate of Eleven. “I think she’s dead,” she stated. “I believe Mike’s story is just one last chapter, and then they say goodbye to childhood. But that’s just one final tale, and that’s it.”
