Odyssey Star Calls Working on Christopher Nolan’s Latest Film “One of the Best Experiences Ever”
Mia Goth is all praises for The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated Ancient Greek epic.
“That was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It really was. It was profound,” Goth shared. “I’ve been such a fan of [Nolan’s] work for years. To have the chance to witness his directing was incredible. I learned so much from that. The trust he places in actors was enlightening.”
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, on his decade-long journey home from the Trojan War, facing numerous challenges set by the gods. Matt Damon takes on the role of Odysseus, with Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as his wife Penelope, and a stellar cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.
Goth portrays Melantho, Penelope’s favored maid. While Odysseus is away fighting wars and striving to return, Penelope remains in Ithaca, fending off a host of suitors.
Other cast members have echoed her enthusiasm about their time on set. “I can say, without hyperbole, that it was the best experience of my career,” Damon remarked last year. “I saw the [Trojan] horse on the beach and I was just like, ‘Wow.’ It was just so cool.”
The Odyssey is set to hit theaters on July 17.
