Understanding Electricity in StarRupture: Tips for Building an Efficient Power Grid
In a game centered around constructing sprawling production lines, StarRupture faces a challenge right from the start: establishing a reliable power grid. The tutorial offers a brief overview, but figuring out how to generate electricity and connect it to your machinery can be less straightforward than it seems.
If you’ve been haphazardly placing Ore Excavators and other essential machines, only to find they’re not operational despite having a fleet of solar panels, you’re not alone. Below, I’ll share how to effectively connect power to the various technologies in your base, a lesson I learned through trial and error.
To power your base in StarRupture, you need to construct a generator, such as a solar panel, and link it to your machines using rails, platform foundations, or bridges. While there are no traditional wires in the game, all rails and floor pieces can conduct electricity. Ideally, by the time you’re done, there should be no exposed dirt, as you’ll cover it all with walkways and machinery to create a power network.
Position your power generators near your Base Core or production machines—note that Ore Excavators cannot be powered by simply placing a generator next to them.
You’ll likely encounter power issues when setting up a new production line that’s distanced from your Base Core. In such cases, I suggest:
Once everything is connected, your machines should power on and operate continuously. If they don’t, you may need to add more generators to boost your electricity supply. As you advance, you’ll unlock more efficient generators beyond the basic solar panels, so you won’t be stuck with a sprawling field of them for long.
