Introducing the Grok-Enhanced Anime Hologram That Will Taunt You During Gameplay
Razer, renowned for its vibrant RGB keyboards, cat-ear headsets, and premium gaming chairs, has unveiled its latest creation: an AI anime companion named “Kira,” part of the “AI gaming copilot” Project Ava. This announcement came during the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where AI technology is taking center stage. Project Ava was first introduced at last year’s event, showcasing a video of the AI assistant offering gameplay tips for navigating boss fights in Black Myth: Wukong. Now, Project Ava has made its debut in a tangible form, featuring an “AI Desk Companion” equipped with a built-in webcam for “human-like vision” and “full contextual awareness,” customizable RGB LEDs, a USB-C port, and a unique “swappable” 5.5-inch-tall 3D holographic avatar.
According to the latest details, Project Ava’s holographic companion is available in five different forms. These include the default amorphous green blob, the anime waifu Kira, and a muscular “gaming wingman” named Zane. Additionally, two of the holograms are 3D representations of real individuals: South Korean eSports icon Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and J-Pop sensation Saori “Sao” Araki, who gained fame last year with her viral “Office Lady” meme.
As reported, the physical version of Project Ava will utilize xAI’s Grok technology. However, there have been mixed reviews regarding its performance. Some users have found the experience with Project Ava to be as unpredictable as interacting with any standard AI chatbot, while others noted that Kira often filled conversational gaps with excessive chatter. For those interested in acquiring one, Razer’s Project Ava FAQ indicates that the AI companions are expected to launch in the second half of 2026, with reservations available in the U.S. for a $20 deposit. The pricing for the full Grok-powered holograms has yet to be disclosed.
