The Hyperpop Collection brings vibrant colors to the PS5 lineup.
Sony has just announced a new lineup of vibrant PS5 accessories that might have you adjusting your display brightness. Set to drop on March 12, the Hyperpop Collection features three eye-catching designs in Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue, available as PS5 Slim console covers and matching DualSense controllers.
Leo Cardoso from the Hyperpop Collection design team shared that these bold colors draw inspiration from the glow of RGB gaming setups. To me, they evoke a fresh neon twist on the classic colors of the Cross, X, and Triangle buttons from older PlayStation controllers. Either way, I’m all in.
This time around, Sony’s design team has gone beyond just slapping bright colors on the accessories. Each design showcases a sleek black gradient that transitions into the vibrant neon hues, creating a striking contrast that really pops.
The contrast is particularly striking on the DualSense controllers, where the black wraps around both the front and back. Plus, the glossy textured finish, as noted by Hyperpop team member Sae Kobayashi, is also present on the console covers, making those neon colors stand out even more than I initially thought possible.
Unfortunately, if you were hoping for a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro decked out in these neon shades, you’re out of luck. It’s a missed opportunity, as I might have been tempted to snag a PS5 Pro if it came in that stunning Rhythm Blue. The new colors do come with a slight price increase, which is typical for these limited-edition designs. If you’re ready to add some neon flair to your PS5 setup, the Hyperpop Console Covers and DualSense controllers will be available for pre-order on January 16 at $74.99 / £64.99 and $84.99 / £74.99 through online stores and select retailers at 10am local time.
