South Park Joins Fortnite with New 5-Player Mode and Free Mini-Pass

The long-anticipated Fortnite collaboration with South Park is finally here, as Epic Games has released a new short film showcasing how the boys get pulled into the metaverse. This collab brings exciting features, including a new five-player mode for Battle Royale, a free mini-pass for earning South Park-themed cosmetics, and at least five character skins available in the item shop. Plus, the familiar Wonkeeland area on the Battle Royale map will be transformed into Cartmanland.

The short film, reminiscent of Fortnite’s previous reveal for its Simpsons-themed season, highlights the boys as enthusiastic Fortnite players. However, Butters struggles to join in since squads are limited to four players. In a humorous twist, he attempts to use the Stick of Truth to convince them to let him play, but things don’t go as planned.

This South Park crossover will introduce several changes to Battle Royale. Cartmanland replaces Wonkeeland, and players can look forward to a Cheesy Poofs healing item and a Stick of Truth mythic weapon. For the first time, players can team up in groups of five in Fortnite’s main mode. Additionally, the collaboration will feature an event pass, a concept Fortnite had previously embraced until the end of Chapter 5. This pass will be free for all players, though details about its contents remain under wraps.

In the item shop, players can expect skins for Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, and Butters, all decked out in mech suits, as hinted in the teaser. A Towelie sidekick will also be available, though it’s unclear whether it will be part of the shop or the event pass. The Fortnite x South Park event is set to run until February 5.
