Essential Helldivers 2 Warbond Rankings: Top Picks to Unlock First
Our Helldivers 2 Warbond tier list ranks all 18 Warbonds from S-tier to D-tier, helping you make the most of your Super Credits. For those new to Helldivers, Warbonds function like mini, permanent battle passes that allow you to unlock a variety of weapons, Stratagems, armor, and cosmetics using your hard-earned Medals. However, not all Warbonds are created equal when it comes to the quality of gear they offer. With that in mind, we’ve ranked each Warbond and highlighted the best items Super Earth has to offer.
Based on our testing, the Democratic Detonation, Dust Devils, and Control Group Warbonds stand out as the top choices in Helldivers 2. If you’re just starting out or unsure where to invest your Super Credits for maximum value, these are solid picks. Keep in mind that all premium Warbonds cost 1,000 Super Credits, while Legendary Warbonds are priced at 1,500 SCs. If you have a Helldivers 2 Warbond Token, you can use it on any non-Legendary Warbond to bypass the Super Credits cost.
It’s also important to remember that buffs and nerfs to weapons and Stratagems throughout the life of Helldivers 2 may shift the effectiveness of certain Warbonds. The best Warbonds today might be outclassed by new additions or updates to existing ones in the future. We’ll keep the Warbond tier list updated as changes occur!
For a deeper dive beyond just rankings, here’s a breakdown of the strengths and weaknesses of all 18 premium Warbonds currently available in Helldivers 2:
**Highlights:** Senator revolver, Breaker Incendiary shotgun, armor with the Servo-Assisted passive
The Helldivers 2 Steeled Veterans Warbond was the first premium offering in the game but has become somewhat lackluster in terms of overall quality. It includes the Senator revolver, a solid sidearm against the Automatons, and the Breaker Incendiary, which excels at taking down Terminids. The Servo-Assisted armor passive is decent but can be found in other Warbonds.
**Highlights:** Sickle energy weapon, Stun grenade
Some items in the Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond may not appeal to everyone, except for the Sickle, which is one of the best weapons in the game—reliable and easy to use for any mission. The Stun grenade is a close second, with the Punisher Plasma and Blitzer serving as nice bonuses.
**Highlights:** Thermite grenade, Adjudicator assault rifle, Eruptor, Grenade Pistol, Exploding Crossbow
Every weapon in the Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond is a standout, both in terms of effectiveness and explosive capabilities (the Adjudicator may not explode, but it can penetrate medium armor, which is incredibly useful). While friendly fire can be an issue with the Eruptor and Exploding Crossbow, they are undeniably powerful against all enemy factions, and the Grenade Pistol is one of the most effective secondary weapons in the game.
**Highlights:** Purifier energy weapon
The Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond is packed with items, but only the PLAS-101 Purifier stands out as arguably the best primary weapon in the game. Despite offering three other weapons, three armor sets, and the Incendiary Impact grenade, it serves as a decent starting point for new players looking to expand their loadout options quickly.
**Highlights:** Experimental Infusion Booster
The Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond has a stylish appeal but falls short in effectiveness. The Liberator Carbine and Bushwhacker weapons are adequate but not exceptional, and the Peak Physique armor passive is only beneficial for melee weapon users. However, it does include one of the best Boosters available, though that alone may not justify the Warbond’s purchase.
**Highlights:** Cookout shotgun, Torcher primary weapon, Crisper secondary, armor with the Inflammable passive
If you love the Flamethrower, the Helldivers 2 Freedom’s Flame Warbond is a must-have. The Cookout, Torcher, and Crisper are all excellent against the swarms of Terminids and the fleshy Voteless of the Illuminate.
**Highlights:** Gas grenade
The Helldivers 2 Chemical Agents Warbond is likely the least impressive, both due to its noxious theme and the underwhelming gear it offers—looking at you, Stim Pistol. However, the Gas grenade is a standout item thanks to its stun effect, which works on nearly all enemies, along with its corrosive damage.
**Highlights:** Armor with the Unflinching passive, Loyalist secondary
The Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond features a solid selection of gear. All three weapons are reliable against most enemies, and the armor provides the unique Unflinching passive, enhancing protection and radar scans. While other Warbonds may offer better weapons, Truth Enforcers has a well-rounded selection that can serve you well in most missions.
**Highlights:** Armor with the Siege-Ready passive, Anti-Tank Emplacement Stratagem, Directional Shield Stratagem
The Helldivers 2 Urban Legends Warbond includes only one weapon, the Stun Lance melee weapon, which isn’t particularly impressive. However, it does feature some useful defensive items, including the Siege-Ready armor passive for faster reloads and more ammo, and the Anti-Tank Emplacement, which can deal significant damage at range—ideal for taking down Leviathan ships, Bile Titans, and Factory Striders.
**Highlights:** Double-Edge Sickle energy weapon, Ultimatum secondary, Portable Hellbomb Stratagem
The Helldivers 2 Servants of Freedom Warbond offers some excellent explosive weapons that can be invaluable in higher-difficulty missions. The Ultimatum and Portable Hellbomb are great for demolishing large, armored foes and structures, while the Double-Edge Sickle is an upgraded version of the regular Sickle, balanced with self-damage. The Integrated Explosives armor passive is a fun gimmick but not particularly useful overall.
**Highlights:** Talon secondary, Hover Pack Stratagem
Unless you’re a fan of quick-draw sidearms, the Helldivers 2 Borderline Justice Warbond doesn’t offer much. The Talon is a powerful energy revolver-style sidearm, slightly weaker than the Senator but theoretically has infinite ammo, making it one of the best options available. The Hover Pack is also handy for gaining a quick aerial advantage, though the regular Jump Pack may be more practical.
**Highlights:** Sample Scanner Booster, Pyrotech grenade
The Helldivers 2 Masters of Ceremony Warbond lacks standout gear, featuring some quirky, parade-themed items. The Amendment is a decent marksman rifle, and the armor sets with their Reinforced Epaulettes passive are somewhat useful, but the One True Flag Stratagem is nearly useless. The Sample Scanner Booster and thermite-like Pyrotech grenade are the only items worth noting.
**Highlights:** De-escalator Stratagem
The Helldivers 2 Force of Law Warbond isn’t particularly impressive overall. The Pacifier assault rifle and Ballistic Padding armor passive are functional but overshadowed by better options in other Warbonds. The De-escalator, however, is an excellent support weapon that deals substantial damage and can stun many enemies.
**Highlights:** Variable special weapon, Epoch, Warp Pack
The Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond feels like a sequel to Cutting Edge, offering some powerful and fun experimental gear, though it comes with a learning curve. The Variable and Epoch are both strong weapons but can easily injure (or kill) their user. The Warp Pack is one of the best backpack Stratagems in the game, but using black holes for teleportation is risky.
**Highlights:** MA5C Assault Rifle, M90A Shotgun
The Helldivers 2 Halo ODST crossover Warbond features solid weapons and armor, but nothing groundbreaking. Its 1,500 Super Credit price tag makes it hard to justify. The assault rifle is a fantastic all-rounder with medium armor penetration, and the shotgun offers great range and damage, but the SMG and pistol are underwhelming and don’t enhance stealth approaches as much as expected, even with the Feet First armor passive.
**Highlights:** Coyote assault rifle, Speargun
With a unique mix of weapons and Stratagems, the Helldivers 2 Dust Devils Warbond is surprisingly effective. It includes the incendiary, medium-armor-penetrating Coyote, which is one of the best primary weapons in the game, and the gas-spewing Speargun, which excels against all factions. The Pineapple grenade and Solo Silo Stratagem are the only real letdowns.
**Highlights:** Defoliation Tool Stratagem, Hot Dog Stratagem, One Two assault rifle
The Helldivers 2 Python Commandos Warbond brings heavy firepower to the jungle, though with mixed results. The Hot Dog drone and chainsaw are the most powerful items here but come with clear drawbacks—the former can cause friendly fire chaos, while the latter requires a heavy investment in melee damage and personal protection. The Maxigun is bulky and awkward to wield, and the One Two assault rifle is only notable for its underbarrel grenade launcher, adding some versatility.
**Highlights:** Accelerator Rifle
If you didn’t get the Helldivers 2 Killzone Warbond for free, I wouldn’t recommend spending 1,500 Super Credits unless you’re a huge fan of the Killzone cosmetics. The weapons and armor aren’t particularly special, with better alternatives available, though snipers may appreciate the Accelerator Rifle. This Legendary Warbond’s only redeeming quality is that it’s the cheapest in terms of the total Medals required to unlock everything.
