After testing more than 20 Switch 2 cases, the JSAUX ModCase unveiled at CES 2026 has caught my attention.
JSAUX has been making waves at CES 2026, showcasing a fresh lineup of accessories for the highly anticipated Switch 2. Among the exciting offerings, the ModCase has caught my attention, especially since my Nintendo handheld is in need of some new gear.
The ModCase for Switch 2 stands out with its ergonomic grips, a protective PC cover for storing physical games, and a silicone strap on the back designed to hold a power bank and other modular accessories. This setup is perfect for tackling the limited battery life of Nintendo’s latest console.
The JSAUX ModCase is priced at just under $30 and can be found on their online store. It comes in a basic kit featuring essential components, as well as an Ultimate Kit that includes additional gadgets. The Ultimate Kit is set to ship in mid-January.
This isn’t JSAUX’s first foray into protective cases; they previously released the ModCase for the Steam Deck, which received positive feedback. It was only a matter of time before the Switch 2 got a similar upgrade, and I’m eager to see how this “smart set of handheld armor” enhances the gaming experience.
The new ModCase for Switch 2 draws inspiration from its predecessors, offering 360° Full-Body Protection with a hard back shell and a detachable front cover. It ensures that all ports and vents remain accessible thanks to precise cut-outs, keeping your device safe without sacrificing functionality. The basic kit includes a modular back slide system that allows for easy attachment of a metal kickstand and a silicone strap to secure any spare power banks for on-the-go charging.
In terms of design, it’s reminiscent of Dbrand’s KillSwitch case, particularly in how it addresses dock compatibility. For those looking for more, the Dock Adapter Stand Kit is available for $45.99, which includes everything mentioned plus a 2-in-1 extension cable and stand for seamless dock mode access.
The Ultimate Kit, priced at $59.99, takes it a step further by allowing you to attach a smartphone above your handheld. This feature is perfect for multitaskers who want to watch YouTube videos while racing in Mario Kart or following tutorials for collecting Banandium Gems in Donkey Kong Bananza.
I’m looking forward to testing the JSAUX ModCase for Switch 2 this year to see how its modular design compares to my favorite cases from last year. If you’re attending CES, be sure to check it out along with JSAUX’s other new products until January 9 at South Hall 2, Booth #35233.
