Get Ready for a Bold New Look: PlayStation 5 to Launch in Toxic Waste Green!
Sony is shaking things up for the PlayStation 5 with some vibrant new color options, including a striking green that’s sure to make your console stand out even more. This March, gamers can look forward to the arrival of the “Hyperpop” collection, featuring new DualSense controllers and PS5 console covers.
The Hyperpop Collection introduces three fresh color schemes: Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue. The bold red is perfect for fans of flashy aesthetics, while the blue and green shades seem to align perfectly with the upcoming release of Bungie’s Marathon, which showcases similar vibrant tones. Each DualSense controller and console cover features a gradient that shifts from glossy black to these eye-catching RGB colors, inspired by the dynamic lighting of high-end gaming setups.
“We’re cranking the volume all the way up with a collection that doesn’t just stand out, it takes over the room,” said a member of the design team. “Inspired by the glow of the RGB lights of your impressive gaming setups, these new colors go LOUD in the best possible way.”
However, it looks like owners of the PlayStation 5 Pro will have to stick with their current color options, as Sony has only announced console covers for the standard PS5.
The Hyperpop DualSense wireless controllers will retail for $84.99/€84.99/£74.99, while the matching PS5 console covers will be priced at $74.99/€74.99/£64.99, available in limited quantities in select markets. The collection is set to launch on March 12, with pre-orders starting on January 16 at 10 a.m. local time through official channels and select retailers.
