Xbox’s upcoming game showcase could be its most significant event to date.

The next major Xbox showcase has been scheduled. A new Xbox Developer Direct is set for January 22, featuring three highly anticipated titles: the latest Fable, a new Forza Horizon set in Japan, and an action-adventure game from Game Freak, known for their work on Pokémon.

During this January event, Microsoft promises an “extended look” at Fable, which has been in the works for over five years and is finally slated for release in 2026. Fans can expect to see the magic and mischief that await in this reboot of the beloved franchise, with developers from Playground Games showcasing stunning new gameplay. The classic elements of Fable will return, including choice, consequence, drama, action, British humor, and, of course, chickens, all reimagined for both longtime fans and newcomers.

Playground Games will also provide an in-depth look at Forza Horizon 6, highlighting gameplay and new features that showcase how Japan is brought to life in this exciting new chapter.

Additionally, there will be a glimpse of Beast of Reincarnation, the action-RPG from Game Freak set in a post-apocalyptic Japan. This will include an intriguing look at the protagonist Emma’s unique plant manipulation abilities and her gameplay alongside her canine companion, Koo.

As is tradition with Xbox Developer Direct showcases, there may be a surprise reveal. Could this hint at the long-rumored new Fallout remasters from Bethesda Game Studios? We’ll find out on January 22 at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST/6 p.m. GMT.
