Disney’s Live-Action Tangled Remake Casts Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder After Lilo and Stitch’s $1 Billion Success
Disney has officially cast its leads for the live-action adaptation of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, putting an end to various fan speculations.
Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim will step into the iconic roles for this upcoming remake. Croft is recognized for her role as Rachel Roth, also known as Raven, in HBO Max’s Titans series, while Manheim gained fame through Disney Channel’s Zombie franchise, which features four films and an animated series.
The film will be directed by Michael Gracey, known for his work on Better Man and The Greatest Showman, with the script written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who contributed to Thor: Love and Thunder.
In the original 2010 animated film, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi lent their voices to the beloved characters. The story follows Rapunzel, who has been trapped in a tower by Mother Gothel since childhood, using her magical hair for the villain’s benefit. When she meets the outlaw Flynn Rider, she seizes the chance to escape and explore the world for the first time.
Although the live-action remake has been in development since 2024, it faced delays after the studio’s Snow White reboot underperformed at the box office. However, following the success of the live-action Lilo and Stitch, which grossed over $1 billion in May, the project is now back on track.
As of now, there is no release date for the live-action Tangled remake. Stay tuned for more updates on this and other upcoming Disney films to keep your watchlist fresh.
