With season 2 set to premiere on February 10, Disney Plus has added the first season of Hulu’s Australian series The Artful Dodger to its library, allowing you to catch up before the new episodes drop. This series serves as a sort of sequel to Charles Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist, featuring Thomas Brodie-Sangster and David Thewlis.
Described as “a tale of reinvention, betrayal, redemption, and love with a twist,” the show follows Jack Dawkins, whose pickpocketing skills have evolved into those of a skilled surgeon. The synopsis continues, “Lady Belle, the Governor’s daughter, is brilliant and captivating, capturing Dodger’s heart as she strives to become the first female surgeon. Torn between the allure of high society and the temptation of the criminal underworld, Dodger’s past resurfaces with Fagin’s arrival, luring him back for one last heist.”
The Artful Dodger is available to watch on Disney Plus starting January 10.
