“American Truck Simulator Race Delivers Unforgettable Chaos at AGDQ – A Must-Watch 35 Minutes!”

Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 is wrapping up, but it may have already reached its peak on Thursday, January 7. That day featured an American Truck Simulator race that was so wildly entertaining and chaotic that it’s sure to be remembered in GDQ lore.

You might be curious about how one even speedruns American Truck Simulator, a game that lacks clear objectives and is mostly about cruising down long, lonely highways where you can easily keep the pedal to the metal. The most straightforward approach is to set up a point-to-point race between two equally skilled truckers starting from the same spot.

That’s how the AGDQ run kicked off, with a race from Amarillo, TX to… well, the destination isn’t really the focus, as you’ll soon see. Runners anarchyasf and Lazlotus, taking on the personas of Big Ranch and Heavy Chevy, respectively, donned trucker hats and adopted their best Mid-South accents. They were joined by commentary from sapphire_in_ping (Dispatch Diva) and Buffalo Boone (Buffalo Boone) on the couch, with chibicarrera (The Godfather) hosting.

Buffalo Boone has become a bit of a star in the GDQ scene thanks to his lively Texas charm, and the energy was electric right from the start. However, it was clear early on that this wouldn’t be a masterclass in speedrunning techniques. For one, the in-game clock began in complete darkness, and within a minute, Big Ranch had already flipped her truck sideways.

If you’re starting to catch the vibe, I suggest hitting play on the video below to fully experience the chaos. The wild energy only intensified from there. Less than 10 minutes in, Big Ranch made another blunder, getting distracted by the map and crashing into a guardrail. This mishap turned out to be a game-breaker.

Big Ranch’s truck got stuck in such a way that she couldn’t move, yet the game still thought her truck was in motion, preventing her from accessing the menu to call for a tow or fast travel. Minutes ticked by. The blame fell on an Etsy witch, real or not. Everyone scrambled for a solution, but nothing worked. As dawn broke in-game, the runners, commentators, and audience joined in a desperate rendition of ‘Life Is a Highway.’

Buffalo Boone kept the mood light, calling for “donies” to be read by The Godfather and throwing in “yee-haw” at every opportunity. Eventually, Heavy Chevy turned around to try and ram Big Ranch’s truck in hopes of freeing it from the physics glitch. Several attempts failed. The host jokingly asked, “Is this yuri?” But then, Heavy Chevy managed to gain some speed and crashed into the guardrail, getting stuck right next to Big Ranch. The GDQ audience erupted into applause.

Somehow, this bizarre turn of events reset the physics, allowing both truckers to call for a tow and escape their predicament. Buffalo Boone exclaimed, “The Etsy witch has saved us!” The drivers picked a new destination and decided to ride out the remaining estimated 35 minutes to the finish.

You’d think nothing could top this madness. Surely, there couldn’t be a punchline that would elevate this run even further into the annals of GDQ chaos. Yet, the run ended with Heavy Chevy crashing into Big Ranch at such an angle that her truck became embedded backwards in the ground, pointing straight up at the sky. The crowd began chanting, “Trucks! Trucks! Trucks!”

“This is yuri, y’all,” The Godfather remarked. “This right here is yuri!”

“That’s the most yeein’-haw thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Buffalo Boone concluded. I couldn’t agree more.
