No need to shell out $200 for one of GameCube’s rarest titles—Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is now available on Switch 2 through Switch Online!
Nintendo has added Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance to Nintendo Switch Online, giving Switch 2 players the chance to experience this classic without shelling out a fortune for a second-hand copy.
When discussing the top Fire Emblem titles, Awakening and Three Houses often come to mind, thanks to their popularity on the 3DS and beyond (we’re looking at you, Fates). However, before the Awakening era, Ike’s duology was a standout, and it’s unfortunate that many players have been priced out of enjoying them, with GameCube’s Path of Radiance frequently fetching over $200 on the resale market.
Fortunately, with the announcement of GameCube games joining Nintendo Switch Online, fans were treated to a lineup that includes some of the console’s priciest titles like Chibi-Robo, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, and now Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. After the surprise addition of Wario World last month, Nintendo has made it easier on wallets by bringing Path of Radiance to the service today.
Guide Ike and his allies to triumph and restore harmony to the seven kingdoms in the classic GameCube title, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance – now available on Nintendo Switch 2 with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack!
Of course, you’ll still need to invest in a Nintendo Switch 2 and a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, and try not to get too carried away with Fire Emblem before Fortune’s Weave drops later this year. But if you have all that sorted, you can dive into one of the best Fire Emblem games, which happens to be a personal favorite. Plus, it’s the least you can do for Ike after all those victories he helped you achieve in Super Smash Bros. back in the day.
As the original Switch’s impressive 8-year journey wraps up, no franchise has thrived quite like Fire Emblem.
