Arc Raiders Developers Announce Upcoming Anti-Cheat Enhancements

The extraction shooter Arc Raiders has emerged as one of the standout titles of 2025, drawing in some players who resort to cheating to gain an edge. In response to the growing frustration among honest players, Embark Studios has announced upcoming anti-cheat initiatives. “We’ve noticed the conversations surrounding cheaters in Arc Raiders,” the studio communicated on the game’s Discord server. “Rest assured, we take this matter seriously and are actively listening to your feedback. In the coming weeks, we will implement significant changes to our rules and roll out new detection systems to identify and eliminate cheaters. This will include enhancements to our Anti-Cheat systems for better detection and bans, as well as client-side fixes targeting the ‘out of map glitch.’ Additionally, we are introducing tools for streamers to help reduce stream sniping.” While a specific timeline for these anti-cheat measures hasn’t been provided, Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund recently mentioned that Arc Raiders has quietly rolled out “aggression-based matchmaking.” He clarified that while matchmaking remains skill-based, it will also consider how likely players are to engage in combat with others. Earlier this month, Arc Raiders reached a new high with 3.2 million daily active users, and during the two-week holiday period, it outperformed all other games on Steam. In a lighthearted moment, an Arc Raiders player recounted how their in-game pleas for help prompted a concerned neighbor to attempt to kick down their door to offer assistance.
