Keychron’s Nape Pro: The Ideal Trackball for First-Time Users

Keychron has unveiled its first-ever trackball, the Nape Pro, at CES, and it’s definitely turning heads. This sleek device offers versatile placement options on your desk. You can position it to the right or left of your keyboard like a classic trackball, or slide it in front for easy access without lifting your hands from the keys.

This setup is reminiscent of the Lenovo TrackPoint found on ThinkPad laptops, allowing for seamless cursor movement, rotary dial adjustments, and the use of its six fully-programmable buttons—all while keeping your hands comfortably in place.

Keychron co-founder Paul Tan mentioned that the Nape Pro will soon launch in Japan through crowdfunding, with a US release expected in the spring, priced between $60 and $100, depending on tariffs. I can’t wait for it to arrive here; I’d love to have one positioned under my keyboard or off to the side while still using a traditional mouse. More options are always a win!
