Fable May Launch on PS5 from Day One

Playground Games is currently developing two exciting titles: Forza Horizon 6 and a new entry in the Fable series. Both games are anticipated to make their way to PS5, but only one is likely to launch simultaneously with the Xbox and PC versions. According to insider information, the new Fable game is expected to hit PS5 on release day, as the team has been focusing on the platform for some time. Forza Horizon 6 is confirmed for PS5, but it will arrive after the Xbox and PC versions. Reports indicate that the game “wasn’t ready” for a simultaneous PS5 launch, although the accuracy of this claim remains uncertain.

When Forza Horizon 6 was first announced in 2025, it was stated that a PS5 version would follow the Xbox and PC releases, but no specific timeline was provided. As for Fable, there’s been no official word on a PS5 release yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising given the trend of Microsoft releasing major titles on rival platforms. The delay of Fable to 2026 has led to speculation that this could allow for a simultaneous launch on PS5 alongside the other versions.

Both Fable and Forza Horizon 6 are set to be showcased at the Xbox Developer Direct on January 22, where Playground will offer an “extended look” at Fable, a significant reveal considering the limited information shared so far. Forza Horizon 6 will also debut its first gameplay footage. Microsoft has been known to release some of its titles on competing systems like PS5 to expand their audience and boost revenue. Notably, Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 recently surpassed 5 million units sold, generating over $300 million in revenue.
