Diablo 4’s Leaderboards and a Frustrating Affix Are Experiencing Issues

Diablo 4’s latest patch has reintroduced leaderboards through The Tower dungeon, but it’s not all smooth sailing. Both the leaderboards and a specific enemy affix are experiencing bugs. Community manager Marcoose informed players on the forums that while The Tower remains accessible, leaderboard results are not displaying correctly across all classes. Blizzard is looking into the issue, but there are no updates available at this time.

Additionally, the Executioner affix has been completely disabled due to a persistent audio bug introduced in patch 2.5.2. On the bright side, Blizzard is using this opportunity to revamp the affix, aiming to make it less punishing. The revamped version will be reintroduced in a future update. For those unfamiliar, the Executioner affix causes swords to rain down at a player’s location, and during endgame, a flurry of these swords can drop simultaneously when players are rapidly defeating large groups of enemies, often resulting in instant death.

In his forum post, Marcoose detailed the planned changes to make Executioner more forgiving. These adjustments will include a one-second cooldown for sword spawns, limiting it to one sword instead of multiple when taking down groups of enemies. Additionally, the swords will no longer track players; they will fall immediately upon reaching the player’s location, making them easier to anticipate.

Although Lord of Hatred is set to launch on April 28, those who preorder can dive into the new Paladin class right now. A prequel novel, Diablo 4: The Lost Horadrim, is also available for preorder.
