Ghostface Returns: Sidney Prescott’s Daughter is the New Target in Scream 7 Teaser
Neve Campbell’s iconic character, Sidney Prescott, first took center stage in the 1996 classic Scream. Fast forward 30 years, and Ghostface is back, this time targeting her daughter in the latest teaser for Scream 7.
The teaser revisits the chilling events of the original film, where Sidney and her friends find themselves hunted by none other than her boyfriend, Billy Prescott (Skeet Ulrich), and his accomplice, Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard), who embody the Ghostface persona.
The official synopsis for Scream 7 reveals the stakes: “When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must confront the horrors of her past to end the bloodshed once and for all.”
This installment sees the return of several original cast members, including Neve Campbell as Sidney, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and even Matthew Lillard as Stu Macher, who appeared to meet his end in the first film. Skeet Ulrich was also in discussions to reprise his role as Billy Loomis, but plans shifted following the departure of the film’s original director, Melissa Barrera.
The Scream franchise is known for its surprising character comebacks, often bringing back characters presumed dead, sometimes even as antagonists, making these unexpected resurrections a signature element of the series.
Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on February 27. In the meantime, fans can revisit the franchise’s previous films and their memorable moments.
