A Guide to Acquiring Pets in Heartopia

As you explore Heartopia, you’ll encounter a variety of animals, including alpacas, birds, and even some exotic creatures like capybaras and pandas. However, you won’t be able to tame these animals. Instead, your focus will be on unlocking dogs and cats as pets in Heartopia, and it requires some effort to get there.

Heartopia revolves around hobbies, and caring for cats and dogs involves two distinct tasks. You’ll need to progress through several D.G. Member levels before you can access pet adoption, but the payoff is worth it when you finally meet these adorable companions. Here’s how to unlock pets in Heartopia.

You’ll gain the ability to care for pets once you reach Level 12 as a D.G. Member. Upon reaching this milestone, a quest will prompt you to visit Mrs. Joan at her adoption center located in the heart of town.

When you chat with Mrs. Joan, she’ll guide you through the pet adoption process. Unfortunately, dog enthusiasts will need to adopt a cat first as part of the quest. However, if you speak to her again right after, she’ll provide information about the available dogs.

There are three dogs and three cats up for adoption, with their species changing daily. If you’re in the middle of the quest and don’t see a pet that catches your eye, you can always wait for the next day.

Once you’ve adopted and named your pet, it will be sent straight to your home, where you can bond with it through feeding, petting, playing, and bathing. The interaction options vary slightly for dogs, as you’ll also have the chance to walk and train your new puppy.

Currently, only cats and dogs can be adopted from Mrs. Joan’s adoption center in Heartopia. While it would be exciting to see more animals like birds or guinea pigs added in the future, it seems unlikely that Heartopia will introduce these pets anytime soon. For now, cats and dogs will have to suffice.
