Forza Horizon 6 Set to Explore Japan, Leaks Suggest
Next week, Forza Horizon 6 will take center stage at Xbox’s upcoming Dev Direct Showcase. However, thanks to an in-game leak, we don’t have to wait to learn about the launch date for this open-world racing title. Get ready to hit the roads of Japan in May when Horizon 6 makes its debut.
On January 14, an Xbox news account from Saudi Arabia shared a screenshot on Twitter, claiming it was an early advertisement for Forza Horizon 6. This ad states that the game, which was officially revealed in September 2025, will be available four days early on May 15 for those who pre-order the Premium Edition. This suggests that the official release date for Horizon 6 is May 19. Sources have confirmed to VGC that this release window is accurate.
“Discover the breathtaking landscapes of Japan in over 550 real-world cars and become a racing Legend in Forza Horizon’s biggest open-world driving adventure yet,” the ad proclaims. Here’s what else you can expect with the Premium Edition pre-order, according to the leaked information:
• Early Access – Play 4 days early, starting May 15
• VIP Membership
• Welcome Pack
• Car Pass
• Time Attack Car Pack
• Italian Passion Car Pack (coming post-launch)
• 2 Premium Expansions (coming post-launch)
According to the Xbox news account, the ad appeared while they were playing a different Forza title. While it hasn’t been confirmed if the ad is genuine, similar leaks have occurred in the past, and VGC’s corroboration lends credibility to this one.
It’s also fitting that this leak surfaced just a week before the Dev Direct event. It seems some wires got crossed, but we can likely expect the official release date and more details to be revealed on January 22 during the showcase. Additionally, the event is anticipated to feature Game Freak’s AAA action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, along with an in-depth look at the long-awaited Fable reboot. Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass, with a PS5 version rumored to follow later.
