Hytale to Receive Bigger, Tailored Updates in the Future

Hytale has officially launched in early access after a decade of development and a previous cancellation. As with many early-access titles, the game is still a work in progress and may have bugs and quirks as the developers at Hypixel continue to refine it. They’ve shared their immediate plans for updates, promising to roll out changes “quickly and frequently” in the first few months to tackle the “backlog of obvious construction sites” they aim to improve.

For those who may not be aware, Hypixel acquired Hytale from Riot in November 2025, and in the eight weeks since, the team has worked diligently to bring the game to players, though not every issue has been resolved yet. Looking ahead, Hypixel intends to introduce “larger, more bespoke updates” and new features, including official minigames, which are set to enter development soon. These minigames will introduce “systems and features that expand gameplay,” according to the studio.

Additionally, they’ve prototyped social features for Hytale, such as proximity voice chat and friends lists. Another exciting update on the horizon is the Adventure Mode, which will feature “rich story and narrative elements, deeper progression systems, dungeons with boss fights, and more.” Hypixel noted that their roadmap is flexible, as they anticipate feedback from players experiencing Hytale for the first time. The game is currently available through the Hytale Launcher and has made a strong impression, reflected in its impressive viewership on Twitch.
