Accessing Azure Logs in Hytale: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hytale lets you cruise through its diverse biomes without needing to focus on specific resources for a while, but that carefree vibe takes a sharp turn when you need to hunt down Azure Logs. The crafting rule shifts from “any log will do” to a more specific requirement, as these unique blue-grained logs are essential for upgrading your gear.

To upgrade the Armorer’s Workbench to Tier 2, you’ll need a solid stash of these logs. After spending hours collecting medium hides for leather, I still hadn’t snagged a single Azure Log. It turned into quite the saga—one that’s a bit embarrassing in retrospect—though the name of the material does hint at how to find Azure Logs in Hytale.

You can obtain Azure Logs by chopping down Azure Trees found in the deep blue forests marked on your map. While most of Zone 1 is a sea of green, keep an eye out for those distinct biomes that pop up in orange or blue.

Once you’re in one of those biomes, search for trees adorned with bright blue leaves. Occasionally, you might encounter a few sneaky green trees mixed in with the towering azure ones, so don’t be alarmed if you end up with a handful of Oak Logs from one of your cuts. You’re still in the right area, but you might want to take a closer look at the leaves before you start swinging.

Alternatively, you could go on a clearcutting spree in the biome to ensure you snag at least some blue logs.

Any axe will do the job, but I opted to upgrade my workbench and crafted the Iron Axe as my second item (the first being a pickaxe for more iron, naturally). The Iron Axe chops down trees more quickly, and I appreciate not having to repair it as often. Given how much of Hytale revolves around chopping, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment.
