Marathon Set for Official Launch in March After Previous Delays

Marathon, the highly anticipated extraction shooter from Bungie, has just dropped a new gameplay trailer along with a confirmed release date: Thursday, March 5. Pre-orders are now live for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Steam, so you can dive into the action soon.

The trailer showcases a variety of weapons you’ll encounter on Tau Ceti IV, the lost colony where you’ll be scavenging as a runner. You’ll need to fend off hostile security forces, rival runners, and more. Among the exciting gadgets featured are a grappling hook that appears to latch onto thin air and a massive shield, perfect for navigating tight spaces.

Originally slated for a September 2025 release, Marathon faced delays after feedback from alpha playtests fell short of expectations. Bungie has since settled on a March 2026 release window, which is now officially confirmed.

In addition to the release date, the English voice cast has been announced, featuring notable talents like Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2, Back 4 Blood), Samantha Béart (Baldur’s Gate 3, Dying Light: The Beast), Ben Starr (Final Fantasy 16, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), and Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), among others.

Lastly, the Marathon Collector’s Edition has been unveiled. This edition includes everything from the standard and deluxe versions, plus some exclusive extras. Available only through the Bungie store, the Collector’s Edition will cost $230.
