Mike Colter Hints at Exciting Return as Luke Cage in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Mike Colter, known for his role as Luke Cage, is eager to return to the MCU, feeling that he has “unfinished business” with the character.

In a recent chat on a podcast, Colter hinted at ongoing discussions about his return, saying, “I’ve had conversations… and I’ll leave it at that. When it wrapped… I loved playing Luke Cage, but I also enjoy exploring different roles. So I thought, ‘I’ll take on something new.’ I appreciate the fans and the universe we created. It’s been a while, and now I find myself thinking, ‘I have some unfinished business there.'”

Before joining the MCU, both Daredevil and Jessica Jones debuted on Netflix in 2015, paving the way for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. The culmination of these series led to the formation of The Defenders, where the heroes united. Luke Cage aired for two seasons starting in 2016 and featured a stellar cast, including Rosario Dawson, Mahershala Ali, and Stephen Rider.

With the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again season 1 and Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones in season 2, fans are buzzing about a potential Defenders reunion. However, Colter mentioned he hasn’t received any calls regarding this.

He continued, “I spoke with Cheo [Hodari Coker], the creator and showrunner of Luke Cage, and now I’m at a point where I’m like, ‘I have some unfinished business.’ Daredevil’s back, so come on… Jessica’s back too.”

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ in March. In the meantime, fans can stay updated on all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows.
