Ron Perlman Makes Surprise Cameo in Fallout Season 2, Revisiting His Iconic Role After Years

He’s green, he’s tough, and he has a long-standing connection to the Fallout universe. That’s right, Ron Perlman is back, this time portraying a Super Mutant to assist Walton Goggins’ Ghoul while delivering some crucial exposition as the plot thickens in the second season’s unfolding conflict.

After the Ghoul finds himself in a precarious situation in Freeside—thanks to a devastating Powerfist punch from the treacherous Lucy—he’s whisked away by a massive, hooded figure.

As the episode progresses, we learn that this figure is a currently unnamed Super Mutant, brought to life by Perlman.

Perlman is no stranger to Fallout, having lent his voice to the series’ iconic narration, famously declaring, “War. War never changes.”

In this season, he ominously tells the Ghoul, “There’s a war coming. And we need you healthy.”

“They call us abominations, but they created our kind,” Perlman’s character asserts, referencing the Enclave—the sinister faction that seems to have a grip on Vault-Tec and is even causing concern for House in Vegas.

What role Perlman’s Super Mutant will play in the larger narrative remains to be seen, but he is rallying an army against those responsible for the chaos.

This marks a significant shift from Perlman’s initial involvement in Fallout. He shared in an interview that he was compensated with “$40 and a sandwich” for his first voice lines, returning for subsequent entries in the series, except for Fallout 4.

“I’ve never played any of the games. The whole Fallout thing is a mystery to me,” Perlman confessed.
