Adobe Acrobat Introduces AI Feature to Transform PDFs into Podcasts

Adobe has rolled out exciting new generative AI features in Acrobat designed to streamline PDF editing and provide audio and visual summaries. These enhancements include chat-based editing and the ability to create personalized podcasts and presentations directly from your documents, all within Acrobat Studio — a specialized AI-driven document workspace that goes beyond the standard PDF reader.

The Generate Podcast feature allows you to transform any document into a podcast-style audio summary, whether it’s notes, meeting transcriptions, lengthy reports, or educational materials. While Adobe has its own audio AI model, this feature currently utilizes a Microsoft GPT model for transcription and a Google voice model, with plans for future updates as they explore different technologies. For those familiar with Google’s NotebookLM, it offers a similar Audio Overviews feature, but Acrobat remains a go-to for many who regularly handle PDF files.

For visual summaries, users of Acrobat Studio can request the AI assistant to create a pitch deck that highlights key insights from their source documents. The Generate Presentation feature integrates Adobe Express tools, offering a variety of presentation designs to choose from. You can either automate the entire process or tweak any elements of the presentation that don’t meet your expectations.

Additionally, Acrobat’s AI assistant now supports PDF editing through chat prompts, mirroring a recent update in Express. Users can easily add signatures, remove pages, text, comments, and images, and replace words and phrases by simply describing the desired changes.
