Fallout Season 2 ranks as Prime Video’s sixth most popular season ever, though viewership numbers remain under wraps.
Fallout’s shift in release strategy doesn’t seem to be impacting its video game adaptation, as Prime Video reports that the second season is one of the platform’s most successful returns.
According to reports, Fallout season 2 has become the sixth most popular season ever on Prime Video, making the series the third best returning show on the platform overall. The top spot is held by The Lord of the Rings prequel, The Rings of Power, followed by Reacher.
“After its first four weeks, Fallout S2 already ranks as the sixth most-watched season ever on Prime Video and has an even higher rating on Rotten Tomatoes than season 1,” stated Peter Friedlander, Head of Global TV at Amazon MGM Studios. Season 2 boasts a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%, slightly improving on season 1’s score of 93%.
The series’ success can be attributed in part to its popularity outside the US, with 53% of viewers tuning in from international markets. However, Amazon has yet to disclose specific viewership numbers for the second season. The first season attracted 65 million viewers within 16 days of its release in 2024, so if season 2 ranks lower on the top 10, it suggests a smaller audience.
Amazon’s decision to withhold data may be due to the fact that the season is still ongoing. The platform has changed its release strategy for Fallout season 2, opting for a weekly episode rollout instead of releasing all episodes at once as it did for season 1. So far, six out of eight episodes have been released, with the season finale scheduled to premiere on February 4, 2026.
Fallout season 2 episode 6 will be available on Prime Video on February 8.
