First Look at Invincible Season 4 Reveals Chilling New Villains and a Familiar Face from The Walking Dead

Thought Omni-Man was a tough opponent? Brace yourself. The first images from Invincible season 4 have dropped, offering a chilling preview of Mark’s challenging journey ahead.

Amazon has shared a sneak peek featuring a blend of familiar faces and new threats. Among them is Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) facing off against the formidable villain Universa (Danai Gurira), marking Gurira’s entry into Robert Kirkman’s superhero universe as another notable addition from her time on The Walking Dead.

We also see Mark (Steven Yeun) in a showdown with a dinosaur named Dinosaurus, voiced by Matthew Rhys—clearly, creativity in naming isn’t his strong suit. The teaser hints at more adventures with Allen (Seth Rogen) and Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) as they traverse the cosmos, alongside the menacing Viltrumite antagonist Thragg (Lee Pace). And yes, he’s the real threat.

Fans of the Invincible comics know that Thragg is the ultimate villain, overshadowing even Omni-Man’s might. Mark has faced various Viltrumites before, especially in season 3, but this time he’s in for a serious challenge.

Invincible season 4 is set to premiere on Prime Video this March, featuring content that Robert Kirkman originally intended to include in the comics but never got around to.

The tease of Darkblood in season 3’s finale stemmed from Kirkman’s desire to incorporate the demonic character back into the story.

“I always wanted to figure out how to bring him back. Every superhero saga has that moment where they venture into hell and confront the devil. It’s a staple in both DC and Marvel,” Kirkman explained.

“I never managed to explore that in Invincible. I kept getting sidetracked, and the timing never felt right. So, it’s quite possible we might delve into something like that in the show, and that final scene is hinting at that direction.”
