New Evil Dead Movie Announced Just Six Months Before Evil Dead Burn’s Release, Featuring a Mike Flanagan Favorite

Evil Dead Burn may not hit theaters for another six months, but that hasn’t stopped the momentum for the iconic horror franchise, as another film has been greenlit.

According to reports, filmmaker Francis Galluppi is set to write and direct this new installment, following the success of Evil Dead Rise, which raked in $147 million worldwide in 2023. Fans of the genre will likely recognize some familiar faces in the cast, including Charlotte Hope from The Nun, Ella Newton from Dangerous Animals, and Zach Gilford, known for his collaborations with Mike Flanagan.

The supporting cast features Jessica McNamee (Mortal Kombat), Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road), Ella Oliphant, and Elizabeth Cullen (The Last Anniversary).

Lee Cronin will produce alongside Rob Tapert, Romel Adam, Jose Cañas, Sam Raimi, and Bruce Campbell, who is well-known for his role as Ash Williams in the series.

Details about the plot of the untitled Evil Dead film remain under wraps, but it’s safe to assume it will involve a group of characters encountering a version of the Necronomicon, leading to the unleashing of Kandarian demons and a showdown with bloodthirsty Deadites.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to Sébastien Vaniček’s Evil Dead Burn, set to release on July 24, featuring stars like Souheila Yacoub, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, George Pullar, and Hunter Doohan from Wednesday.

Vaniček has expressed his desire to create a truly intense film, stating, “I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside; it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
