Top Hytale Console Commands and Cheats You Need to Know
Hytale console commands give you the power to manipulate the game world at will, from teleporting to spawning items and beyond. Once you grasp how to input these commands and understand the available options, you can unleash your creativity.
While there are numerous commands, this isn’t an exhaustive list. Instead, I’ve compiled the most useful ones that I’ve personally tested and confirmed to work.
If you see something in square brackets […], just type the name or identifier without the brackets. For example, ‘do [x]’ should be entered as ‘do x’.
A quick tip: it’s wise to create a separate world for experimenting with console commands. I accidentally broke my starter world within ten minutes of testing and had to start fresh.
To access console commands, press / to open a text box where you can type your commands. However, you may need to enable or disable admin controls for yourself or other players:
|
op self |
This will make you an admin and give you permission to use console commands if you can’t already. |
|
op add [player] |
Adds the named player to the admin list and enables console commands for them |
|
op remove [player] |
Removes the named player to the admin list and disables console commands for them |
|
Help |
Brings up a searchable master list of all commands. |
If you encounter a message saying you can’t use commands, simply use the op command to grant yourself world-altering powers. Keep ‘gamemode creative’ and ‘gamemode adventure’ handy, as some commands can switch between these modes, giving you more control.
Once you have admin status, you can utilize any of the commands listed below. Remember, if a command has something in square brackets [ ], just type the name without the brackets.

While there are many teleport commands that let you move to specific coordinates, using them can often lead to death. You can easily find X and Y coordinates, but Z (the vertical axis) is tricky, which usually results in ending up inside the ground or a mountain. For instance, during my testing, my Z coordinate was around -600. Guessing how to adjust your vertical position while warping across the map rarely ends well.
Here are a few straightforward Hytale world commands that allow you to check and modify your surroundings. As mentioned earlier, switching between gamemode creative and gamemode adventure is very handy, especially if you accidentally change modes with other commands.
|
gamemode creative |
Changes the game mode to creative |
|
gamemode adventure |
Changes the game mode to adventure |
|
worldmap discover |
Discover all the zones on the map |
|

|

There’s a simple time command in Hytale that lets you quickly toggle between day and night. This is particularly useful if you find yourself stuck in the dark and want to avoid the monsters lurking around.
|
Time [time to choose] |
Sets time to the following options: dawn, midday, dusk and midnight |
You can use Hytale item IDs to spawn items with a few main commands, allowing you to give items to yourself or other players, or create them right in front of you:
|
spawnitem |
Spawns the listed item in front of the player |
|
spawnblock |
Spawns the listed block |
|
give |
Puts the listed item in the players inventory |
These can be combined with various Hytale item IDs to spawn specific items. With around 3000 items in the game, you can use a search link to find exactly what you need.
There’s also a handy trick to find what you’re looking for in-game. By typing a partial command using the formats below, you can narrow down your options through the help text that appears:

Knowing how to spawn a Hytale repair kit is incredibly useful. To do this, press / to open the text box and type give tool_repair_kit_iron.
Typing ‘give wood’ will return an error but will also show you some valid options. You can refine your search and type something like ‘give wood_oak’ to get another error but also a list of wood-oak options you can spawn.
Generally, you’ll want to type the type of item first, followed by the subtype. For example, to get medium hide, the command would be:
give ingredient_hide_medium
To give yourself armor, use the following template:
give armor_[material]_[bodypart]
While materials like Hytale copper and cobalt are named the same in commands, player body parts are referred to as head, chest, hands, and legs. So, to give yourself a cobalt cuirass, you would type:
give armor_cobalt_chest
For a copper helmet, it would be:
give armor_copper_head
You can also give yourself weapons in a similar manner. To obtain a copper longsword, you would type:
give weapon_longsword_copper
For an adamantite longsword, the command would be:
give weapon_longsword_adamantite_saurian
As with the item spawn commands, typing a partial command will prompt an error message that guides you to the available options. For instance, if you type ‘give weapon_longsword’ and hit enter, a help dialogue will display the list of longsword options.
