Disney Villainous expands with new additions featuring Frozen, Hocus Pocus, and Coco.
The strategy board game series Disney Villainous is set to expand its roster in 2026, bringing in iconic characters from Frozen, Hocus Pocus, and Coco for this year’s new releases.
Kicking off in July, Disney Villainous: Success at Any Cost introduces Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco and Prince Hans from Frozen to your game nights. Later in the year, Disney Villainous: Come, We Fly! will feature the Sanderson Sisters from the beloved Hocus Pocus. These new characters can be combined with others from the Disney Villainous universe, which I firmly believe deserves a spot as one of the top board games out there.
It looks like the Hocus Pocus expansion will be a single-character pack, similar to the Nightmare Before Christmas set, meaning you’ll need other villains to join in the fun. However, Success at Any Cost can be played as a standalone two-player game or integrated into the main game. One of the aspects I appreciated in my Disney Villainous review was how battling against other villains alters the gameplay and forces you to rethink your strategies, so I’m eager to see how these new characters shake things up.
Lysa Penrose, Ravensburger’s international product manager for family games, mentioned that Success at Any Cost introduces “devious new matchups […] filled with back-stabbing and betrayal.” Meanwhile, Come, We Fly! continues the trend of incorporating live-action villains, a concept that began with last year’s Pirates of the Caribbean expansion. Davy Jones opened the door to a wealth of playable villains from cherished Disney tales, and with Hocus Pocus being a Halloween classic, it was a no-brainer to bring the Sanderson Sisters into the fold this fall.
If you haven’t tried Disney Villainous yet and are unsure where to begin, the original game is usually available at a good discount online. However, I’d suggest starting with the newer ‘Introduction to Evil’ set, which is currently priced at $24.99, down from $35, as it offers a more streamlined experience.
I got a sneak peek at these expansions during the London Toy Fair earlier this week, and as a long-time Villainous enthusiast, I couldn’t help but feel excited. While I’m particularly drawn to Coco, I can’t believe it took this long to see a Frozen villain. With Prince Hans being all charm—much like Ernesto de la Cruz, who I hope can replicate his movie success in-game—this could lead to a more nuanced gameplay experience. The Sanderson Sisters, on the other hand, are likely to bring a more chaotic energy. As a fan of both Hocus Pocus and Halloween, I’m already planning a game night for that standalone pack this fall.
Disney Villainous: Success at Any Cost will retail for $22.99 and will launch with a Target-exclusive edition featuring designs inspired by traditional papel picado art, commonly seen during festivals like Día de Los Muertos. Disney Villainous: Come, We Fly! will be priced at $14.99 and is expected to arrive just in time for the spooky season.
