New Masters of the Universe trailer reimagines He-Man’s tale with a Superman twist, featuring Jared Leto as Skeletor.

Prince Adam transitions from a mundane office life to battling evil in the action-packed trailer for the live-action Masters of the Universe film.

Following a teaser that cleverly acknowledged its own lore while giving fans a first look at iconic characters like Battle Cat and Man-At-Arms, the full trailer showcases Nicolas Galitzine as the muscular hero. He reveals that he was sent to Earth by his mother, Queen Marlena, when he was a child. Despite living a relatively ordinary life, he has always dreamed of trading his business attire for a fur-trimmed loincloth and engaging in epic battles.

“All that stuff that only exists in legends and bedtime stories; talking tigers, spaceships, and magic swords that make a man as mighty as a god,” he narrates. “Where I come from, that stuff is real.” The trailer follows Adam as he searches for the Power Sword in hopes of returning to Eternia, a dangerous endeavor since Jared Leto’s menacing Skeletor is waiting for him.

The clip also offers glimpses of Skeletor’s lair, Snake Mountain, Adam’s colleague Suzie, the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, Fisto, and Spikor from the Evil Warriors. Although we haven’t seen her in character yet, Alison Brie will portray Skeletor’s right-hand woman, Evil-Lyn, with Kristen Wiig, Camila Mendes, and Idris Elba also joining the cast.

Directed by Travis Knight, known for Bumblebee, Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5.
