Lego Luigi Set Teaser Reveals Mario’s Iconic Death Stare

It seems Mario’s reign as the sole adult-oriented character in the Mario Kart lineup is about to face some competition, as a new Lego Luigi set has been hinted at.

A brief post on Lego’s social media gives us a sneak peek: Mario’s younger brother is getting a brick-based transformation, joining the ranks of the best Lego sets. The teaser suggests that Lego Luigi will be featured in the Mach 8 kart, allowing fans to recreate that iconic cinematic moment right on their shelves. How cool is that?

From what little we can see in the teaser, Lego Luigi appears to be roughly the same size as the Lego Mario and Standard Kart set, which boasts nearly 2,000 pieces. This likely means the price point will be similar—currently, you can snag Mario for about $170 on Amazon, or £124.98 in the UK, down from £150.

It’s been an exciting month for fans of both Lego and Nintendo. After the reveal of the Lego Pokemon line, we also got our first look at a new Lego Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time set. If you were hoping to save some cash in 2026, you might want to reconsider.

As for when we’ll get more information about this set, Lego’s teaser timelines can vary widely—from quick reveals to months of waiting. We’ll have to stay tuned, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this ties into Mario Day on March 10 (Mar10).
