Arc Raiders Fans Flood Italian Hotel with 5-Star Reviews

A hotel in Italy is currently experiencing a surge of reviews from players of Arc Raiders, who are finding it amusing that the hotel, named Hotel Stella Montis, shares its name with a location in the game.

In Arc Raiders, a popular free-to-play extraction shooter from Embark Studios, Stella Montis is depicted as a research facility nestled in a snowy mountain range. In reality, it’s a four-star hotel located in northern Italy, and while it’s not a secret research hub or the last stronghold of humanity, it does have some parallels with its in-game namesake. Just like the game’s Stella Montis, which is set in a snowy area north of the Rust Belt, Hotel Stella Montis is situated in the Dolomites, a well-known destination for winter sports.

The similarities end there, but that hasn’t stopped players from leaving reviews that suggest the hotel and the Arc Raiders location are one and the same.

“Got a tempest blueprint from the cafeteria, found a few vulcanos and il toros at medical, and played bastion ball in the loading bay (watch out for rats though). 10/10, would recommend,” one player wrote in a glowing 5-star review, tagging the hotel as “high-tech” and “romantic.”

However, not all feedback has been glowing.

“Terrible experience,” another player lamented, giving the hotel a mere 3 out of 5 stars. “Tried to leave after a quiz run of loots and was extract camped by some griefers.”

Despite the mixed reviews, the influx of comments from Arc Raiders players has been beneficial for the hotel. When the first reviews related to the game appeared on a subreddit, the hotel had a 4.4-star rating. As more players chimed in over the past couple of days, the rating has climbed to 4.6 stars. Yet, the numerous references to in-game features might leave some potential guests puzzled, especially with mentions of “rats.”

The whole situation is undeniably entertaining.

“Great place,” one reviewer noted. “But I do recommend traveling solo for this hotel. Any group larger than 2 has a very high chance of encountering rats in the lobby. The hotel has a medical section which is a hotspot for dead bodies. Also, while you’re here, please try to be friendly to other guests.”

Hotel Stella Montis has not yet made any public statements regarding the wave of Arc Raiders-related reviews, but if you’re interested in visiting, be prepared to spend some cash — according to the hotel’s listing, a stay typically ranges from $260 to $295 per night.

Better start saving up those Raider Coins.
