Netflix reveals a sneak peek of Beef Season 2 featuring Alien and Moon Knight stars, showcasing “two feuding couples” in a new conflict.
Netflix has dropped the first look at Beef season 2, where “two feuding couples” take their conflicts to outrageous levels. Following the acclaim of its debut season, which snagged eight Emmy awards including wins for stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, this A24 anthology series is gearing up for another round with a fresh cast and a new juicy storyline.
The newly released images showcase Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as a millennial couple enjoying a lavish lifestyle, complete with country club golf outings and extravagant beauty treatments. They’ll cross paths with Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton, who play a younger couple caught up in the drama.
Set to premiere on Netflix in April, Beef season 2 follows the story of newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Melton), both working as lower-level staff at a country club. They become embroiled in the crumbling marriage of their General Manager, Joshua Martín (Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Mulligan). As both couples navigate favors and manipulation, they seek the approval of the club’s wealthy owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh Jung), who is dealing with her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang Ho).
Originally, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway were set to star in the second season, but Isaac and Mulligan stepped in alongside Melton and Spaeny.
Isaac recently appeared in another Netflix project, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which featured a star-studded ensemble including Daniel Craig and Glenn Close. This film, directed by Rian Johnson, continues the beloved whodunit saga with a new murder mystery set in a church in upstate New York.
Beef season 2 is set to hit Netflix on April 16.
