Arc Raiders 2026 Roadmap Unveiled: Level 40+ Exclusive Matchmaking, New Large Arc, Teased Beach Map with Unique Conditions, and Two Expedition Windows

The developer Embark Studios has unveiled the roadmap for Arc Raiders, detailing the upcoming content for the next three months and hinting at an update set to drop in January.

This period, dubbed the “Escalation” phase, will span from January to April 2026. Players can expect a mix of new quests, feats, trials, events, gameplay items (fingers crossed for new weapons), cosmetics, and quality-of-life improvements. Each month will also introduce several more substantial changes and additions.

Here’s a breakdown of what to anticipate in the Escalation phase, with specific timing yet to be confirmed.

This early 2026 roadmap will guide players through the first quarter of the year, offering immediate changes to enhance gameplay. The introduction of a level 40+ matchmaking option could be a game-changer, helping to filter out cheaters and favor players with more valuable loadouts, while also teasing larger updates on the horizon.

April is shaping up to be a key month; a new map could dramatically shift the daily gameplay experience. A beach setting would be a refreshing change, and adding a third large Arc to hunt would expand the endgame loop significantly. After all, there’s only so many Queens and Matriarchs one can take down.

We’ve heard that the new maps this year will vary in size, with the largest potentially being “even grander than what we have now.” However, April is still a bit away, and it seems there will be plenty of exciting content before then. The February “map update” in particular could have a major impact, alongside potential quality-of-life adjustments aimed at addressing common player frustrations. If Embark can deliver on time-saving loadouts, they’ll earn a lot of goodwill from the community.

A key point of discussion will be how Expeditions are managed. Players have voiced concerns about the lack of timely information and the steep coin requirements associated with the first Expedition. As of now, details about the February window remain sparse. Design lead Virgil Watkins has mentioned that Embark is actively exploring ways to balance and structure Expeditions, but changes to requirements—especially the $5 million coin threshold for maximum bonus skill points—are still uncertain.

It will also be intriguing to see how Embark introduces entirely new Arc enemies alongside proposed “variants” that could significantly alter existing foes by changing their behavior and abilities. The team is focused on finding ways to “escalate” PvE as players adapt to the current Arc.

The developers have also hinted at special raids featuring high-value rounds that require players to bring in top-tier gear, but they aim to avoid overly segmenting the player base.
