Chris Pratt Shares Exciting Vision for Star-Lord’s Future in the MCU: “I Think It’s Fantastic”
While not officially part of the Avengers: Doomsday lineup, Star-Lord is set to make a comeback in the MCU, and Chris Pratt has a compelling vision for his return. Recently, the actor shared his thoughts on the character, mentioning that he has pitched some ideas to Marvel Studios.
In a conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Pratt skillfully sidestepped questions about Peter Quill’s future but expressed his dedication to the role. “Everything is all liquid, right? They take things step by step at Marvel. I’m ready to do whatever they need from me, and I have a really strong vision of what I want him to do. I think it’s f***ing great,” he stated.
After confirming that he has shared his ideas with Marvel, Pratt added, “I’m eager to contribute in any way I can to help set up the next decade of storytelling. I also have a solid idea of how I think I could fit into that.”
Pratt’s journey in the superhero realm has been closely tied to James Gunn, who directed the three Guardians of the Galaxy films that turned Star-Lord into a beloved character. With Gunn now at the helm of DC Studios, the question arises: what’s next for the character?
When asked if he had a director in mind to continue the story, Pratt replied, “Working with the Russos on Avengers was an incredible experience, but it felt different from working with James [Gunn]. In a perfect world, it would be James, but I don’t think that’s likely. So, I’d have to consider who would be the right fit. There are so many talented directors out there. I’m sure we’d find the right one.”
On the Marvel slate, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to swing into theaters on July 31, with Tom Holland back as Peter Parker. Just a few months later, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18.
