Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s top minigame will receive exciting upgrades and expansions in the third installment of the JRPG remake trilogy.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 remains a bit of a mystery, but director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed that an upgraded and expanded version of Queen’s Blood, the popular card game introduced in Rebirth, will play a significant role in the upcoming JRPG.

“Queen’s Blood is a beloved minigame, and I know many players are eager for more,” Hamaguchi shared. “I want to enhance Queen’s Blood, providing a more powerful version when you experience the third installment… It will definitely be part of the third game, and we aim to expand on it.”

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth already demands a hefty time investment, and while I usually hesitate to dive into non-story-related minigames, Queen’s Blood is incredibly satisfying once you get the hang of it, plus it features a worthwhile side quest. This makes me both excited and a bit anxious about managing my time with the news that Part 3 will offer an even bigger version of Queen’s Blood.

Additionally, the third installment will reintroduce the snowboarding minigame from the original Final Fantasy 7, but it seems it will be more woven into the narrative, which raises some intriguing questions.

“Snowboarding! This is something that fans have strong memories of!” Hamaguchi noted. “I can’t go into too much detail, but we want to ensure it’s not just a simple minigame. It will be integrated into the story to connect with its themes.”

As for the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, there’s no official window yet. Hamaguchi mentioned that the game is currently in a “playable” state but still requires some “polish,” indicating that development is further along than one might expect, especially since Rebirth launched less than two years ago.

Hamaguchi teased that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has “reached a stage where it’s finally starting to match the vision I had for it,” and the “new experience” is “almost complete.”
