Cristina Milioti Confirms Sofia Falcone Won’t Appear in The Batman 2
Cristin Milioti’s mesmerizing portrayal of the unpredictable Sofia Falcone in the first season of The Penguin stood out in a series filled with remarkable performances. Despite the show’s acclaim from both critics and fans, Milioti herself is uncertain about the future of the series and whether there will be a second season.
“There’s no official word on anything. I would love nothing more, truly,” Milioti shared in an interview. “I hope. Fingers crossed.”
Her role has earned her several acting nominations, including wins at the Primetime Emmys and the Critics’ Choice Awards. While Sofia Falcone serves as the antagonist in The Penguin, Milioti infuses her character with a compelling intensity and a relatable thirst for vengeance, making her one of the standout figures in The Batman universe.
However, it’s disappointing to learn that while Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin will appear in the upcoming sequel, The Batman Part II, Milioti confirmed that Sofia Falcone will “definitively not be in the film.” This news certainly stings, as fans were hoping for more of Milioti’s captivating performance.
There has been a strong demand for a second season of The Penguin, but it appears that updates on its status will be scarce until after the release of The Batman Part II. With the sequel set for 2027, the situation is further complicated for DC Studios’ expanding DC Universe, which operates under a different continuity. Co-CEO James Gunn has indicated that a new Batman won’t be introduced until after the Robert Pattinson-led film hits theaters.
As we await The Batman Part II, keep an eye on all the upcoming DC movies and shows currently in development.
